Winter Fayre Success

Wow boys and girls, you all did really well in our Winter Fayre today. You were all good at up selling your products and tried really hard to give change when needed. So far we have raised approximately £280!!! We have smashed our target of £200. We still have some more things left to sell. Let's see if we can raise another £20 by the end of the week to reach £300.

Winter Fayre

Remember mums and dads are invited to come along to our Winter Fayre tomorrow afternoon at 2.30pm. We have lots if different things on sale. We would love you to come along. We have made personal handprint holly wreaths with our photos on to sell to you. We are trying to raise money as we would like to improve our reading area.

Home Readers

Please continue to bring your books in on your reading days this week. Next week may we please have all of your books in on Tuesday. We will change your books and give you three new ones for the Christmas holidays.
Keep reading everyday and it will help you to become a more fluent reader! You have all made great progress already this year, let's continue to build on it.
Remember if you have a Christmas themed story you would like to share with the class, bring it into school and we will read it at story time!

Ice Skating

Hi boys and girls, Miss Shaw and I are really excited about going ice skating on Thursday with you all. Make sure you wear jeans/jogging bottoms, thick long socks, bring gloves and a change of clothes.
Learn your shoe size ready for our trip to the ice rink as it helps you to find the right size ice skates quicker! That means more time on the ice. I can't wait to see you all gliding around!

Letters to Santa

Last week we wrote our letters to Santa. We worked really hard to show Santa what wonderful writers we are. We hope he is impressed with our work! Today we walked down to the postbox and posted our letters! We hope they get to the North Pole soon as there is only two weeks left until Christmas Day! How exciting!!!

Winter Fayre

We have been working hard like the elves in Santa's Workshop today! We are making decorations ready to sell at our Winter Fayre on Monday 16th December. We would love our families to come along at 2.30pm to have a look at all the goodies we are selling! We are raising money as we want to buy some new resources for both our indoor and outdoor classrooms. We hope you can make it!!! We can't wait!

Caerphilly Medieval Christmas Market

Here is our entry to the art competition for Caerphilly Medieval Christmas Market. All of the banners are going to be hung in the town and the winning banner receives a prize!

Library Visit

We had lots of fun at the library today! We listened to the librarian tell us an exciting story and then chose our own books to read. We are all going to try and set up a library card so we can borrow books and take them home with us.

Home Readers

We love reading in Dosbarth Porffor. We have fun listening to the teacher read, carrying out shared reading with our class mates, group reading and reading by ourselves. It is important that we read everyday to broaden our vocabulary and understanding of texts. Continue to keep up the home reading as your mum and dads love listening to you read too. We want to be reading champions so keep up the hard work.

Bonfire Night Celebrations

We are having lots of fun learning about why we celebrate Bonfire Night. We have been exploring with colours,lines and shapes to create our own firework pictures! Come into the classroom and see them on our display!

Half Term

Hello boys and girls,

From there you can select the autumn writing activity. Think about all the things we have been learning in school about description and poetry. Learning Logs and Maths Tasks

We had a special visit from the Super Science Sleuth Professors today. They helped us to learn about the importance of food hygiene. We loved being scientists!

Multiplication Challenge!

Each week we are going to challenge ourselves to beat the clock when reciting our times tables out of order. The person with the quickest time at the end of the week will achieve a certificate and reward!
This week we are working on the 2x table! Well done, Joseph,Alice and Hollie who all achieved great times today!

Summer Term

Purple Mash Activity

We have had two weeks learning all about Pirates and you have all really enjoyed making treasure maps, writing diary entries and designing pirate ships. What a lovely treat!

We were very lucky at St Gwladys today as we were able to see the cup that the Welsh rugby team won in this years six nations. It was very exciting indeed! It reminded us of the importance of working as a team to achieve a common goal.
I wonder what tomorrow has in store for us ...
